IPSY Glam Bag & Glam Bag Plus- Are they worth it?

by Wasifa Ahmad Hasan

Happy Tuesday! I have always loved a good subscription box service. It’s a cost-effective and promising way to explore new products without paying full money. Speaking of subscription boxes, IPSY has been a part of my beauty subscription journey for a long time ago.

You will find a whole IPSY Glam Bag archive on my blog, where I have unboxed them and reviewed the products. In addition, this year, I have been posting short unboxing videos and writing the mini-reviews on my Instagram (@sifascorner). But you can’t just write all the information over there, can you?

Cue in this article!

During my journey with many subscription boxes, I realized something. Subscription boxes can be a hit or a huge miss, especially if they are not appropriately curated. It’s like a miniature version of a boutique where you can find an absolute gem or just plain junk.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not here to bash anyone. A beauty product that person A loves, person B can hate. Does it make the product terrible? Nope!

So the whole subscription box system can depend on the individual.

And what makes a subscription box great?

The ability to personalize the box to match your skin/hair/makeup choices.

What is IPSY Glam Bag & Glam Bag Plus:

IPSY is a beauty subscription service that delivers a set of personalized beauty products at an incredible value. There are 3 variations of IPSY bags: Glam Bag, Glam Bag Plus, and Glam Bag X.

You can sign up for these bags according to your budget. IPSY costs $13/month for Glam Bag, Glam Bag Plus: $28/month, Glam Bag X: $55/quarter. I started my IPSY journey with their Glam Bag. This bag contains 5 mini-sized products at $13. I still believe this is the best option, to begin with, as you get to try out 5 new products before spending money on the full-sized ones. So ultimately, you are going to save money.

The Glam Bag Plus offers 5 full-sized products and Glam Bag X 7-8 full-size products curated by beauty’s biggest celebs (worth up to $350) every 3 months.

If you are a blogger/youtuber, you need supplies, and by supplies, I mean new and trendy products for your work. I know how hard and costly it is to buy full-sized products to review. Specifically, if you are at the beginning of your career, you need to save to get other types of equipment like camera, lighting, sound, etc. So investing in a monthly subscription box like IPSY means you will try out makeup, hair care, and skincare products at the lowest cost.
