I feel over-the-moon when I find a drugstore makeup product as good as (or better than) a high-end makeup product. Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer is a recent addition to the drugstore (and my makeup collection).
This concealer is full coverage with a matte finish, comes in 30 shades to match 99% skin tones. Here’s what the brand has to say about the product: “Conceal, shape and brighten with the CoverGirl TruBlend Undercover Concealer. Say bye to bags, dark circles and other skin imperfections with this lightweight concealer. The large, fluffy doe applicator ensures an easy, even application and the velvety, smooth formula leaves behind a matte finish that lasts all day. “
Packaging, Product, and Price:
The product comes in a plastic bottle with a large fluffy doe tip applicator. The size and material for the container make it easier to travel with.
The concealer is really…really opaque. When I first swatched it I swiped just one little dot and it was enough to cover most of the dark circles under my eyes. The formula is creamy, smooth and gives great coverage. It also sets pretty quickly, so if you are someone who likes to draw triangles and squares on the face to highlight the features, you will have a hard time to blend out all of the concealers.
Swatch of Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer:
I use the shade T15 of Covergirl Trublend Matte Made for my foundation. To complement this shade for my skin undertone and color, T100, T150, T300 shade of the Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer matches different parts of my face.
The first shade from left is the shade T300 WARM HONEY. The color is the closest match to my skin tone, so when I am in a hurry and want to wear some concealer and powder foundation for quick makeup, this shade is perfect for that. The middle shade is T150 GOLDEN HONEY, this shade has an orange undertone and perfect as a corrector-concealer around the mouth and dark areas around eyes. The third shade is T100 GOLDEN AMBER. It has a warm golden undertone and good for covering the redness around the nose or cheek area.
Tips for getting the best result from Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer:
- If you have a dry undereye area, or the creases get prominent after you apply concealer, use an eye cream before applying your makeup, specially if you are using Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer.
- Forgot to apply the eyecream? Try a little bit of Covergirl Trublend Moisturizing primer before using the concealer.
- For the actual application, apply 2-3 dots of the product underneath each eye or blemish area and then blend with a damp blending sponge or a small brush immediately.
- You can let it set as it is, or you can use a bit of Covergirl Trublend Minerals Translucent powder with a fluffy brush to set the concealer.
In A Nutshell:
A little product goes a long way and it sets & conceals amazingly well. I absolutely 100% recommend Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer.
