Readers Choice: Brown Smokey eye inspired by Kareena Kapoor.

by Wasifa Ahmad Hasan

Hello lovely readers!
Today I am going to do a tutorial inspired by the following eye-makeup look of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor. It was a request from a dear member of my blog.
As the color of the eye-makeup was not very clear, I had to enlarge it… and it kind of looks like a brown Smokey eye with a hint of green in it.
Scroll down to see how I recreated this eye makeup.

What have I used:

Physicians Formula Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner- Brown
60 color Day & Night palette by BH cosmetics
Urban Decay pencil liner in Perversion
Maybelline volum’ express turbo boost mascara
False Lashes

Steps:

I have applied a light base of foundation on the upper lid to cancel the redness. To clean up the fallout of the shadows, I applied the undereye concealer last.

1 .

Take a brown gel liner or eyeshadow base and apply it on the movable part of your upper eye lid. Keep the crease area bare. I have used Physicians Formula gel liner in Brown.

2 .

Take a shimmery dark green color and place it on the middle part of you upper lid like the following image.

3 .

Now blend the green shadow lightly. Do not go over the outer 3rd and the inner part of your lid.

4 .

Take  a dark coffee-brown and place it on the outer 3rd of your lid. Blend the edges.

5 .

Now take the same dark brown color and place it on the inner corner of your upper lid. Blend the edges.

6 .

Use the same dark brown color and draw a half circular line like Picture-A on your crease. Blend the edges. Add some more brown shadow to deepen the crease. (In the picture, Kareena’s crease is very prominent)
TIP:  When you are blending your shadows, use 2 brushes. One brush for adding the color and one clean brush for blending. In this way the end result will be clean and not muddy.

7 .

Take the darkest black shadow you have and apply it on the base of your upper lid, near the lashline. Draw a little flick on the corner. Blend the edges for a softer look.

8 .

Take a creamy black kohl/liner and line the waterline of your lower lid. I have used UD perversion.

9 .

Smudge the harsh black liner with the dark coffee-brown shadow to make the eyes sultry.

10 .

Fill in your brows and take a shimmery cream/off-white shadow to place it under your brows.

11 .

Curl your lashes, add mascara, put on the falsies and you are done!!

So….did I do justice with the lovely eye-makeup? Let me know if you like it!

Just stumbled across your blog. I've never worn eye shadow … well, I have but it always looks horrendous on me, I don't know what I do lol. This is a great blog, I'm going to try this on the weekend.
