Hello there!

Today I am going to share my thoughts on a makeup palette that was sent to me last September. But unfortunately I couldn’t try it out at that time. Recently I got the chance to properly utilize the palette and I thought it must be shared with my readers!

1

The palette I am talking about is Butter London Shadow Clutch palette. It has a warm neutral palette and a cool neutral palette. I received the Shadow Clutch warm neutral one.

Why naming shadow “clutch” palette?

Because you can change the pans in this palette with colors of your choice! Just like matching your clutch with your attire!

Without further ado, let me jump right into the product.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:

The shadow palette retails for $39  and the duo retails for $15. These can be found on Ulta, Butter London .

MY THOUGHTS:

The first thing that will come to your mind is- Butter London has makeup line too?

Well, yes! They have. I have talked about their Bloody Brilliant Lip crayon previously, I was impressed and I still use those.

So with a high hope I opened the wonderfully curated package and dug dip. The box contained 1 makeup palette and 2 eyeshadow duos. Unfortunately one of the eyshadows was a little bit of broken due to shipment, but it’s usable.

PACKAGING:

I love how “luxurious” the palette looks and feels. With its sleek design and minimalistic approach, this palette is versatile. It has 6 eyeshadows, 1 full sized mirror and a double ended brush. Though most of the time I use the brushes that come with makeup palettes for eyeshadow swatch and other purposes;  you can use this brush for on-the-go quick touch up.

Shadow Clutch Palette- NATURAL CHARM:

Natural Charm is the warm neutral palette from the Shadow Clutch line.  All the colors of the palette performed excellent with and without primer. It has 3 matte colors:

  • Linen (matte vanilla)
  • Camel (matte medium brown)
  • Leather (matte chocolate brown which can be built up to darkest brown)

3 shadows with sheen or pearl finish:

  • Quartz (warm beige with sheen)
  • Camo (dark khaki or olive with sheen)
  • Citrine (medium coral with sheen)

MOODY BLUES:

This duo has 2 colors: Sapphire & Sequins. Sapphire is a jewel toned black based mid blue and Sequins is light mint. Both colors are shimmery. Sapphire has a little bit of frosty finish. Personally I love blue shadows. Unfortunately Sapphire was the one that was broken when I received. 🙁

FANCY FLUTTER:

This eyeshadow duo has Feather and Plume. Feather is a shimmery light orange which swatched lighter than the pan color. Plume is a duo-chrome color which is a great dupe for MAC Blue Brown pigment or Makeup Geek Insomnia. It looks different under different lights and different angles, which I liked. Scroll down to the end of the post to see its color action in different angles.

PROS:

  • You can mix and match the shadow pans to make your own custom palette.
  • The shadows have great color pay off and blends smoothly.
  • Travel friendly.

CONS:

  • The darker colors have a little bit of fallout, which can be easily fixable.
  • You have to buy the duos separately with additional $15.
  • The colors are not that unique.

IN A NUTSHELL:

Quality, packaging and conveniency wise I like this palette. Great job Butter London!
