Do you have a favorite pair of earrings which has turned discolored or rusty?
Don’t throw it out yet.
This is really an inexpensive way to re-use your favorite old piece of rusty jewelry with a new look.
Scroll down to get started!
What will you need:-
- A pair of old dangling gold colored earrings.
- Black nail polish (or any other opaque color will do).
- Glitter nail polish (again, according to your choice). I used a light gold and a multicolored glitter polish.
- Clear nail polish.
- Nail art brush or an unused eye liner brush.
- Toothpick
How to do:-
1.
Take the earring and clean it with a dry tissue ensuring there is no rust or any other residue on the surface.

2.
Color the upper area carefully and let it dry for 10 minutes.

3.
When the colored area is dry, hold the earring with a toothpick like this and spread the lower part & separate the designs to color those individually.
4.
Let it dry for another 10 minutes.
5.
When the color dries out, take the lower designed area and check if any of the danglers is attached to the one next to it. Take your favorite glitter nail color and paint them.
6.
Use the clear nail polish to color the upper part. It will create an extra shine to the area.
7.
Let it hang from an earring holder overnight to dry out completely.
8.
…..and here is the finished look!
