In early-1960s Britain, the two main subcultures were mods and rockers. While mods were seen aspiring to a competitive sophistication, snobbish, and phony, rockers were seen as hopelessly naive,rough, and scruffy. The mods rejected the rockers’ clumsiness and the transparency of their motivations; the rockers viewed the vanity and obsession with clothes of the mods as superficial.
The Ardency Inn Punker Collection was inspired by the darkly rimmed eyes and fierce attitude of punk rockers. The Modster Collection has its roots in the mod subculture of high fashion and all night clubs.
