I am getting a little bit slow in my blogging schedule due to health reason, I apologize for that. To compensate this, today I have 2 treats for you all, a review and a new video!

First of all- the review. I am going to review a product from one of the most iconic brands in Beauty industry. Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS or FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA.

As a VIP member of Influenster, I received this product and I was pleasantly surprised. Who can deny the charm of YSL?

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

According to the product description of YSL False Lash Effect Mascara:

“NEW improved formula does not dry out. The best gets even better, the original false lash effect mascara, now with an all new Lash Care formula. Achieve absolute dramatic lashes in a single stroke for eyes that instantly pop. Its secret is the Triple-Intensity Formula: intense volume, intense color and now intense care. The nylon fiber brush coats each lash in deep color and maximum volume from root to tip, while B5 Pro-Vitamin strengthens and protects lashes. Available in 6 signature YSL shades to compliment eye color or to create a customized look.”

So to simplify things, this mascara has been reformulated with good ingredients to protect and enhance our lashes.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:

It retails for $32 and can be found on YSL, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

PACKAGING:

The packaging of this product is, without doubt, beautiful and eye catching. The gold body has “YSL” engraved on it. Its clean and sleek design will stand out within your makeup collection, just like any other YSL product.

PRODUCT:

I was sent the color “High Density Black” which is the blackest black in their collection. The wand is not too big and the bristles are not too sharp to hurt your eyes. If you look very closely, you can see the fibers in it, which help to lengthen the lashes and make them voluminous.

APPLICATION:

The formula glides on smoothly, easily buildable and brings a certain distinction to the lashes. I am not saying that it will look like you are wearing falsies, but your lashes will be certainly noticeable and will look pretty.

PROS:

1. The formula is rich and feels luxurious.

2. It has Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Seed Oil in it.

3. Definitely brings out the lashes.

4. The product lasts for 8+ hours without smudging.

5. It comes off easily with warm water.

CONS:

1. Pricey.

2. It’s not waterproof.

IN A NUTSHELL:

Due to the high price-range many may skip the product, but if you try it, I think you are going to love the formula. Though it will not give you any “false lash effect”, but it will surely bring out your lashes and make it look naturally beautiful.
