Hello readers!

Well well well, we have something “colorful” on Sifa’s Corner today but it’s not going to be makeup-related. May be it’s gonna be much more better! It’s about hair, and I will also disclose why I think this is more exciting than makeup.

Those who follow me on Instagram, you will see numerous selfies of the recent hair-change I have went through. But I didn’t post the final picture. I took my time for today.

I am thankful for my Instagram followers who were very eager, patient and wanted to see more pictures. Well here is a collage just after coloring and setting my hair.

Now keep on reading for know my whole experience about the process and more better quality pictures.

So let me tell you why I was very excited and simultaneously nervous for the whole process. I had have my eyes on a local hair salon for a long time, just after coming to Fargo last year. This salon is called Avanti salon & spa and the owner/hair colorist there is Angela. But she had her schedule full. So I had to find an alternative, and went to a different hairdresser. (Big mistake!)

The last color job I had was in January before going to Vegas Nay Stardust Tour. I wanted to cover my grey roots and add a little oomph to my hair…and also I wanted to feel confident. Good hair makes me feel confident, can’t help!

But unfortunately the end result was not what I was asking for. After 8 hours of coloring process I was left like this.

The hairdresser thought it was looking great, but I could clearly see the over-processed areas and brassiness of my color.

I am not naming names, but I was crushed by the service. The lower part of my hair was kind of okay, but root and upper parts of my hair looked more and more orange in color day by day.

Immediately after coming back from Vegas, I called Angela again. She gave me an appointment on February which got eventually cancelled for emergency, so she again scheduled me for April 15th. I was so excited.

My experience with Angela from Avanti Salon:

From the moment I stepped my foot in the salon, Angie was nothing but enthusiastic. She listened to what I want, what my expectations were and how far I could experiment with my hair.

Black & White decor

My hair-inspiration was this.

As I have originally black roots, she kept the root color as close to my natural color as possible. It was not black, but a dark shade of brown, which makes the hair look healthy.

As I wanted balayage-ombre, she used lighter colors at the ends and blended the lighter ends and darker roots together.

I also asked for a trim to get rid of the split-ends. So after the color and cut was done, she curled my hair and after 5 hours of hard work the result was this. It was just as I was hoping for, actually better!

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Don’t get settled for anything less than best, specially for hair. You can wipe off the makeup if you don’t like it, but you can’t just get rid of a bad hair-dye job by yourself.

P.S. I was not asked or paid to do any review of the whole service. I really liked the whole experience that’s why I wanted to give a shoutout to Angie. For Fargo residents, you can see her works here on her Facebook page.

Now get ready for more pictures!
