Brow Routine PART 1- Shaping

Hello readers!

Today we are going to talk about brows….I have separated this into 2 parts to make it more detailed and add more pictures. This is going to be our part 1 or Brow Shaping article.

Those readers who are reading this from Bangladesh must be wondering, why the heck should you read another brow grooming article, whereas you can just go to a beauty parlour and have your brows threaded without any hassle!

Well, this is the article to guide you how to clean up brows (in-between parlour visits) and give it a natural shape. This will also help those ladies who do not want anyone else to touch their brows (bad experience, paranoia etc).

I am going to show all of you how do I clean up my brows and shape them at home. If you are going to this DIY route, all you need is a good tweezer and a sharp scissor.

This how my brows naturally look. It has sparse areas, both brows are not the same and they look like caterpillars! Haha! 🙂

My Natural Brows

CLEANSE EVERYTHING:

Before just jumping in with the tweezer, I make sure my hands & tools are clean and I also like to prepare my brows a little for the “cleaning” process. I clean up my brows and surrounding areas with an antibacterial wipe. You can also use your toner with a cotton ball.

This will help to stop those pesky little breakouts which often occur after threading or tweezing brows.

DETERMINE THE SHAPE:

Now you can take a straight brush or pen to help you determine the starting point, arch and the ending point of your brows. As I am grooming my brows for many years I can skip this step most of the time.

1.

The starting point or front of your brows should align with the bridge of your nose. Many brow experts say that the starting point should be determined by imagining a line from the outer edge of the bottom of your nose to inner corner of your eye (Shown in the picture).

Now grab any eye pencil and mark the beginning of the brows like the picture below.

2.

Now take your pen or brush and place it like the picture below. (Don’t poke your eyes! 😛 )

You have to imagine another line which will start from the outer edge of the bottom of your nose and cross your iris like this.

This is going to be your arch. Mark this point with your eye-pencil. (Shown like the following picture)

3.

Now take your brush/pen and imagine a line like this- From the outer edge of the bottom of your nose to the outer corner of your eyes.

Take your eye-pencil and mark the point. So we have got 3 points now to understand and make a basic guideline for the brows.

4.

Now take another eye-pencil in Cream or White color. This will be used to draw the guideline of brow shape. My white liner is almost gone, so I am using a peachy-cream liner.

Draw your brows like this, which is gonna be the basic shape. Don’t feel shy of the weirdness of the process!

5.

Now take your tweezer. A good quality tweezer will help you pluck the hairs efficiently and easily. I use 2 tweezers. The black one is from Tweezerman and the I can’t pronounce the name of  the 2nd silver one which is from Japan.

Now pluck the hairs on and outside the shape you have drawn on your brows. Do NOT take off any hair within the drawn brow shape. Grab the brow hair from the root and quickly pull off the hair. Brush the brow hair upwards with a spoolie brush and with a sharp scissor, cut the extra long brow hairs a little.
After you are done, clean the brows with a wipe again. You are going to get a clean brow shape like this after you are done.
