Brow Routine PART 2- Grooming

Happy Monday readers! I hope you have enjoyed your weekend and in full spirit for the workdays ahead!

This is the second part of my Brow Routine series. To read the first article about Brow shaping, click here.

So now that we have covered how to shape and maintain brows at home, we are going to talk about how you can fill-in your brows with proper brow products and give it a natural look. If you do not have any separate brow products, don’t feel low! You can also fill-in your brows with…..*DRUMROLLS PLEASE*….. Eyeshadows! 🙂

Wanna know how? Check out my previous article on how to fill-in your brows with 5 easy steps.

I am going to use Paula Dorf 2+1 for Brows to fill in my brows. You can find the review of this product and a discount code in my previous article here. You can use any similar powder products i.e ELF, NYX, Benefit, Whitening Lighting, Anastasia Beverly Hills etc; according to your brow color and choice.

You will also need a slanted brow brush (pictured below) and a spoolie brush (not shown here). The slanted brush is must-have brush to fill-in the brows. I am using one from Paula Dorf.

Paula Dorf Brow Brush

You can start your brow routine by directly filling in the sparse areas first, but I like to use a gel or wax before the process. The reason I’m using it first is, you can shape your brow hairs and get a clear idea which areas to fill in if you tidy up the brows first.

So I am using the wax from Paula Dorf first to set the hairs and locate the exact sparse or bald areas within my brows. I don’t want to overdraw my brows, just give it a natural look. I have also used a spoolie brush to place the hairs in the exact place I want.

Brow Wax

Now that your brow hairs are in place and you have the idea which areas to fill in, take your brow brush and lightly dip it into the lightest color of your brow palette.  Take the color to make a defined shape at the base of the front of your brows (Picture 1).

Now take the color again and draw another line along brow’s tail (Picture 2). So now that you have your “base” brow shape, gradually fill in brows with the color in upwards stroke.

After you have filled in with the light color, this will give a slight definition and help you understand better where to place the darker color exactly. If you just use the darker color at the beginning, the end result will be harsh. (We are going for a natural look, remember?)

Now we are going to use the darker color to define the brow a little bit more and fill in the sparse areas. I have used the darker color on the tail of my brows and the arch. Because these particular areas in my brows are kinda sparse. So after I am done filling in those areas, I am left with something like this.

But I am not done with the process. I took my spoolie and brushed out the hairs a little bit to blend the colors and make the brows look more natural. The final result is the following:

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

1. Use light hand while filling in brows.

2. If you have dark brows like mine, don’t use black color to fill it in.

3. Always use 1-2 shades lighter color than your brows.

So after a little bit of mascara and eyeliner, here is the finished look. See how put-together and awake the eyes look afterwards!
