Why You Need To Try POP BEAUTY VELVET POWDER BASE

Nowadays, makeup empire is so rich and saturated that it’s really easy to get lost in this vast world. Then again, some of us still can not find the exact product we are looking for. So if you are looking for a powder to set your foundation, just a touch-up or as a foundation itself, you are in the right place today. I have been using POP BEAUTY Velvet Powder Base for the last 5 months, on myself and some of my clients and it’s safe to say I am more than ready to give my review on this Powder Base.

What is POP BEAUTY VELVET POWDER BASE:

The Powder Base is a compact powder by POP Beauty. According to the brand,

This multi-use, super silky base can be applied as a velvety foundation or a setting powder. Buildable coverage with a natural matte finish. Its lightweight texture blends seamlessly with your natural skin tone.

It comes in a black hard plastic compact with a good-sized mirror. As for coverage, it gives a light to medium coverage depending on what brush you use or how much you use it. It sets as soft matte.

SHADES:

This powder comes in 8 shades, so it may be tricky to get 1 color to match your skin exactly. Surprisingly, I have found that No. 4 Au Lait is my perfect shade.

  • No 1 Fair
  • No 2 Crème
  • No 3 Amber
  • No 4 AuLait
  • No 5 Toffee
  • No 6 Cinnamon
  • No 7 Mocha
  • No 8 Cocoa

SWATCHES:

Just to show how the color interprets on naked skin, here are the swatches with finger.

HOW TO USE:

  • You can take a big fluffy brush and use it as your base, or
  • Layer on top of your tinted moisturizer or foundation as a setting powder.
  • For sheer coverage, use with a soft powder brush and for medium coverage, apply with a sponge.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:

Pop Beauty Velvet powder base retails for $22 each and it can be found on Pop Beauty (here) or Amazon (here).

WHY YOU NEED TO TRY IT:

Have you ever tried those powders which just make your skin look so matte that it looks just-plain-ugly? Well, that is not the case for Pop Beauty powder base. It feels incredibly smooth and silky on the skin. When you brush the powder, it immediately smoothens the pores and makes the skin look airbrushed. I have also used the darker colors as a bronzer/contour product, the result looks natural and beautiful.

You can see me using this powder in my Green Glitter eye makeup tutorial.

IN A NUTSHELL:

I love how this powder works on my combination skin. Do I recommend it? Of course, I do.
