On my last article I reviewed MELT cosmetics eyeshadow stacks. The color, vibrancy and quality of their shadows is , in one word, beautiful! You can check out my review and swatches of these shadows here.

I was playing with the shadows the other day and looking through the past articles on my blog then I came upon one of my very first makeup tutorial posts. (Here is the link) It felt so awkward! See for yourself to know what I mean.

Yes……AWKWARD! But I am not ashamed to show my previous work. It was back in 2011-2012 and I neither had the proper tools or the practice to create a proper eye makeup look. I was a book-nerd with a love for colors who stumbled upon makeup one day and started playing with it.

I have never had any training for makeup, but working for my blog has made me learn more and more everyday. I  also worked to make my work better each time I tried. It may be sounding like a fib to you, but due to my chronic pain and sickness, I had to work really hard to move my fingers to create an eyemakeup.

But I loved playing with makeup and I wanted to be better at it. I watched other artists’ work, worked on myself and others and made my work at least decent and presentable. Because as a person, I am always willing to learn new things and improve my works.

Anyway, back to present. I recreated that purple look with MELT shadows this time. I have also added step by step tutorial if y0u wanna try it out yourself.  🙂

Let’s get started.

1.

I started off with my concealer to prime and tone down the darkness around my eyes. You can use any primer of your choice.

 

2.

I used PROMISCUOUS on the mobile part of my upper lid lightly.

 

3.

I used UNSEEN to blend out the edges of the purple shadow.

 

4.

Then I used FIXATED on my crease to lightly define it.

 

5.

I used a fluffy blending brush to blend the FIXATED shadow even more.

 

6.

I used DARK MATTER shadow to outline the outer part of my crease. Use a pencil or small detailer brush to make this “C” shaped outline. It will help you define and darken the outer crease area.

 

7.

Now I used my blending brush to blend out the black shadow.

I used BLURR shadow to gently blend out the outer part of upper lid. (Shown with arrows)

 

9.

Now I have taken PROMISCUOUS again on my upper lid to make the color more vibrant. I gently packed the color with an eyeshadow brush.

 

10.

I took a black eye kohl and lined my lower water-line.

 

11.

Then I blended out the black kohl with PROMISCUOUS shadow.

 

12.

I used FIXATED again to blend out the lower part (shown with arrows).

 

13.

I blended the upper and lower parts together to make the look smokier and put-together.

 

14.

I used AMELIE to lighten up my inner corners.

 

15.

Take your favorite eyeliner to line your upper eyes.

Lastly I used my concealer to get rid of those under eye circle and added some mascara.
