ONE DIRECTION is a name which is very much popular in today’s music world. Apart from making mind-blowing music, they have ventured into…..wait for it…..MAKEUP! Yes, they have launched their own makeup line featuring eyeshadow palettes, nail colors, hair mascaras etc.

I was fortunate enough to receive some limited edition products from their line…and I have had enough time to play with these babies. So today I am going to share my thoughts on these products.

 

Today I am going to review the first kit I have received from their line. It consists of-

1. Liquilights Glow Gloss

2. Rock Me nail varnish

3. Electroglam mascara

LIQUILIGHTS GLOW GLOSS

This set consists of 3 lip glosses. These are said to be UV reactive and color changing.

“Liquilights Glow Gloss sparkles brilliantly during the day and illuminates under UV black light after dark. Enriched with natural oils and vitamin E to keep your lips soft & hydrated all day and all night.”

 

I have never tried anything like this and didn’t have the opportunity to test out the UV reactive part 🙁 … But I suppose it will be awesome!

The lip glosses are thick, have a distinct fruity smell and they are not too sticky.

The colors are-

Through the Dark-

Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light.

Kiss You-

Orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light.

Taken-

Powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon pink-orange under UV light.

My favorite among the trio is KISS YOU…. it gives a nice sheen by itself and also amplify the color on top of a coral or nude lipstick.

ROCK ME NAIL VARNISH:

This set consists of 3 fun nail colors and 3 glitters.

“Rock Me Nail Kit, featuring neon UV-reactive nail varnish and UV-reactive glitter nail toppings that add even more sizzle to your mani, for nails that light up day and night. Sprinkle the glitter over wet polish for a subtle accent or go for the glitz and dip your entire wet mani in mega-watt sparkle!”

ELECTROGLAM MASCARA:

These are colored mascaras for hair and lashes.

For lashes- Make a subtle statement by adding a pop of color to the tips of your lashes, or add coats to your entire lashes for a shockingly chic look. The more the better!

As a Hair Mascara- Apply to small sections of hair and swipe through for instant highlights.

The colors are as follows-

“Does He Know?”-

Pinkest hot pink.

“Why Don’t We Go There”-

Shock of blue.

“Story of my life”-

Amped canary yellow.

Here is WHY DON’T WE GO THERE on my hair. A little pop of blue on my brunette highlighted hair brightens up the whole look, don’t you think?

 

My thoughts on the products:

PROS:

1. The first thought that came to my mind after seeing the colors was “FUN”. The colors are vibrant and screams Summer. These products are great if you are in party-mood.

2. The lip glosses are thick and moisturizing.

3. The colored mascara is cool to try! You can add some colors on your hair for a night out or just for fun.

CONS:

1. Products are limited edition.

2. The lip colors have sparkle, which is a little disadvantage to use for formal or everyday use.

3. The mascara will stain your hands when you use it. But it will wash off in shower, no worries!

IN A NUTSHELL:

This collection is good for ONE DIRECTION’s younger fans or someone who likes to experiment with their makeup.
