13 Drugstore Lipcolors under $10

So you are excited about the Fall lip trend: dark–bold–rich colors, but you are-A. feeling shy about using bold color OR
B. you just want to experiment with some colors OR
C. not keen on spending your hard earned $$$ on high end lip products (which you will wear only a couple of times!)
What to do?
Why not try some drugstore products?!
Awhile ago, couple of my subscribers were asking for my recommendation on some affordable lip products for Fall. So I got curious, visited Walmart, Target & CVS and started browsing through the makeup aisles. Almost all the brands have launched their Fall collection and most of the lip products are more or less in the same color family- Plum, Berry, Rich red, Oxblood.
As I dig deeper, I realized it’s better to show some of the drugstore products to all of you. The swatches and mini reviews can help you more, rather than naming some lip products!
I bought 13 Fall appropriate lipcolors, all of which were under $10. I know matte lips are “IN” right now, but personally I think in the drier months, moisturizing lip products will be beneficial than matte ones.

Before I start I must tell you,
  • These products are not all newly launched or anything like that.
  • The price may vary from store to store, but everywhere all of these are under $10. I checked.
  • The pictures are taken in broad daylight and without any face or lip makeup to show the actual colors on my NC 35-37 warm toned skin.
Without further ado, let’s show you my picks.

FLOWER SHEER UP LIP TINT [$7.98]

I chose the shade “Airy Orchid” (LC5). This product is sheer, almost like a lip balm but with a tint. This is a great shade for those who are not comfortable with bold-dark colors. The product is hydrating,

doesn’t have any smell and very easy to apply throughout the day….even if you do not have a mirror.

FLOWER SHINE ON LIP GLOSS [$6.98]

I picked the shade “Shop The Violets” (LG12). The product is really moisturizing on lips with a mild flowery smell. The product is not sticky (like some lip gloss) and the color is pretty decent for a gloss, not too sheer.

FLOWER KISS  STICK VELVET LIP COLOR [$6.98]

The color I chose was “Tea Rose” (LS19). It’s a dusty Rosey pink color, which will be great if you are into dark smokey eyes and neutral lips trend. The formula is creamy yet a little bit matte. Works best on moisturized lips. The color density can be buildable from sheer to medium deep.

 

REVLON COLORSTAY MOISTURE STAIN [$7.99]

I picked 3 shades from this collection. I love the formula- liquid which sets into a rich glossy stain. Not sticky or drying at all. The colors will leave a nice faint stain after application.

SHADE 045- New York Scene

 

This is a great shade for those who are not yet over the Summer brights but gradually want to transit into deeper shades. This is a rich reddish coral stain.

SHADE 055- Stockholm Chic

This is a warm dark apricot color with hint of shimmers. The shimmers are not “in-your-face” type, rather these create a beautiful sheen after application.

SHADE 005- Parisian Passion

 

 

This is one interesting color. It is like a deep berry red with cool undertone. I am saying “interesting”, because I have noticed that after application it sure brightens my the face.

L’OREAL INFALLIBLE  LIPSTICK [$8.99]

The shade is 741 Bold Bordeaux with a very mild pleasant smell. This is a rich color with longer staying power. It applies creamy with a semi matte finish.

L’OREAL PARIS COLOUR RICHE EXTRAORDINAIRE LIQUID LIPSTICK [$7.97]

I picked 2 colors, 703 and 502. These products are really creamy and rich in color….it feels just like a liquid lipstick, just as the name implies!

SHADE 703- Caramel Solo

I can see this shade becoming my new all time favorite. It’s not totally nude….it’s a very flattering shade of peachy-pink color with a hint of warmth.

SHADE 502- Plum Adagio

This is a deep plum color with a hint of plum-purple shimmers.

COVERGIRL LIP PERFECTION LIPSTICK [$6.74]

 

My shade is 308 Ravish Ravir.

It is a semi-matte formula which works best on moisturized lips. It’s  light berry shade which can be translated into a warm pink color on lips.

MAYBELLINE COLOR ELIXIR™ BY COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPCOLOR [$6.94]



I picked 2 shades- 045, 050. These can be worn as a gloss for a light color or on top of a lip color.

SHADE 045- Amethyst Potion

 

 

This is a very pretty light berry-pink color…gives  a hint of light berry color.

 

SHADE 050- Caviar Couture

 

 

This is a dark berry color with very fine pink and plum colored shimmers. Looks lovely on night time.

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPCOLOR [$5.50]

The shade is Deepest Cherry.
This is a very creamy yet semi-matte lipstick of oxblood color…or as the shade name, it is truly a deep shade of cherry and the color is buildable.
