During and after Fashion Week seeing our favorite celebrity or blogger’s OOTD, we all covet the designer clothes, and beautiful and hair makeup. Unfortunately, most of us “mere mortals” can’t afford the high-end fashion spotlighted. But we can recreate these celebrity fashion looks at home for much less.
Today, the experts at Barely Xtensions offer will be sharing tips and advice to help everyone look and feel like a celebrity – regardless of whether we’re actually strutting down the red carpet.
“Fashion Week debuts the hottest trends in clothes, accessories, hair and beauty, and we all watch with interest to see what the models will be wearing. The enviable fashion and beauty makes us all wish we were rich supermodels, but these looks can be recreated on budget,” says Nadine Mullings, National Account Manager with Barely Xtensions.
So keep on reading to know How to Follow Celebrity Fashion, even if you (sadly!) don’t have the bank account:
Get Hair Like a Supermodel
The fashion week was out-of-this-world (literally—there were even some alien-inspired looks). One popular trend was super-long hair in all sorts of styles, from stick straight to luscious waves. Extensions can help you get those perfectly enviable long locks, no matter how long your hair actually is.

Romantic and Dreamy
Fashion Week saw trends that were fairy tale dreamy, (ethereal, high piled and flowing with flowers). Romantic looks were all over the runways, with dreamy half-up, half-down styles everywhere from Paris to London to NYC. Models were sporting all sorts of beautiful braids, including classic French, Dutch, and fishtails.
Learn how to create these braids at home— your stylist can show you how to do it or watch YouTube tutorials for step-by-step instructions. Hint: braids work best on hair that’s not squeaky clean, so try this look when you’ve skipped a day or two of shampooing. Use dry shampoo to avoid the greasy look, especially at the roots.

Slick and Sleek
Hair worn slick and sleek is definitely fleek. From slicked-back down to sleek back buns were also popular on the runways. So, grab some gel and hair elastics for a look that’s appropriate anywhere — from a big work meeting to a hot night club. Buns twisted from the nape of the neck up were especially creative.

Woven Color
Another popular trend is super-long hair in all sorts of styles—from stick straight to luscious waves with bright colors woven in with natural hair for color bursts. Extensions—like the ones offered by Barely Xtensions—can give you perfectly enviable long locks, no matter how long your hair actually is or color.

Rock the Accessories
Hair accessories are having a moment! Sparkly barrettes, glitzy bobby pins, and fancy headbands were all spotlighted on the Fashion Week runways. Luckily, this trend is super easy (and affordable) to achieve at home.
Find embellished hair clips. Try layering multiple blinged-out bobby pins, rocking faux pearl barrettes or looking romantic with a soft, velvet headband, and your hair will look like a supermodel’s for less.

Do Trendy Fashion on a Smaller Scale
While we all wish we could afford the couture looks from the 2019 runways, designer pieces are crazy expensive! Guys and gals on a budget should take Fashion Week trends and repurpose them on a smaller and less expensive scale.
Sequins were big on the runways, so instead of investing in a costly designer gown, find inexpensive sparkly accessories, like a bag, cap or barrette blinged out with sequins. You’ll rock the trend for a fraction of the cost.

Likewise, belted coats (especially khaki trenches) were big on the runways this year. This popular and wearable trend can be found for less money at affordable stores like H&M, Gap, and, of course, online. Look for sales and use promo codes to save even more.
Have Fun and Be Unexpected
Part of the fun of Fashion Week is how unexpected the looks are. A puffer-jacket inspired purse? Sure, why not? Some of this year’s trends—netting, bold shoulders, polka dots—are just fun and unexpected, and spice up even the most boring, conservative wardrobe.
Even if you don’t have a Kardashian’s Kash, you can incorporate a bit of whimsy into your look for less—rock bold colors, florals or wild prints on your accessories–were all seen on the 2019 models! Find these looks clothes at lower price points at your local mall.

Pair a classic blazer with a pair of bike shorts for a playful and imaginative outfit. Enhance your ensemble with unexpected accessories— like a fanny pack, which is an affordable trend that lets you carry your essentials hands-free. And make a fun, dramatic change to your hairstyle.
