I have been trying to bring out the natural curl patterns of my hair for almost a year. If your hair is curly and you dye your hair regularly, you must have realized how dry it gets after coloring. Especially, after the harsh winter at Midwest this year, my curls need as much love as possible.
Due to the cold weather and pure laziness, I haven’t colored my hair for a long time, almost 6 months. This is not a very long time if you don’t have greys…but I do have greys and I am not yet ready to go full-on grey. So it’s high time I take care of this situation.
I picked a new product for this time: Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture Hair Color. I generally dye my hair with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color, as I have shared with all of you before in my previous article: How I Color My Hair At Home with Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color for Fall. This new Keratin Color + Moisture hair color line is targeted to provide deep nourishment for moisturized hair and long-lasting color with Macadamia Nut Oil. It’s made for hair types and textures from straight to wavy, to curly, and even coily.
Keratin Color + Moisture line is designed for women of color. The shades work on dark hair and complement all hair textures & skin tones. It provides deep nourishment, a moisturizing conditioner, vibrant color results, & hair damage protection.
My hair needs all the moisture and TLC, so I thought, “Bring it on!”
WHICH SHADES OF Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture I PICKED:
I had cut my hair shorter couple of months back, so this time I will be needing only 2 boxes. The shades are:
- Keratin Color & Moisture Jet Black,
- Keratin Color & Moisture Dark Brown.
WHERE TO GET Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture:
I bought my Schwarzkopf Keratin Keratin Color + Moisture from Target. You can get it from the store or online.
WHY I PICKED THESE SHADES:
In the following picture, you will see my natural hair is the darkest black…almost giving a bluish tint at the roots. The last time I used dark brown, but my greys came out lighter than the rest of the hair. Which is why today I have chosen Jet Black for the roots area. For the rest of the hair, I will be applying the Dark Brown.
HOW THE PROCESS WENT:
I read the instructions and followed the steps exactly. I applied the Pre-Treatment on the dry ends of my hair. The pre-treatment may sound like an extra step but this protective Pre-Color Serum conditions the hair before coloring for a more even color result from root to tip.
Then I mixed the color cream (2a) into developer lotion (2b) as seen below. After I shook the bottle well, I took off the cap and applied the mixture by creating small sections with the pointy nozzle.
I started with the black shade from the roots. After I colored my grey hairs, I applied the dark brown to the rest of my hair. I kept it on for 30 minutes and then washed it out and conditioned.
This is showing you the actual result with my naturally curly hair without any other style enhancing products. The greys are covered completely and I didn’t have any bad result after using it.
I have never dyed my hair this dark…it’s like I am looking at my pre-colored hair when I was a little girl!
The whole process was easy and the results are pretty noticeable. If you follow the instructions properly, you won’t have any problems. I love the shine and softness after the process.
Have you realized how some colors make your hair feel heavier, dry and lackluster? Well, I am happy to say that this is not the case for Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture line. My hair positively looks and feels fresh and healthier.
IN A NUTSHELL:
If you are also going to color your hair at-home, Schwarzkopf® Keratin Color + Moisture is something you must look into.
I will soon share my new hair in its curly-glory on my Instagram. Follow my page there (@sifascorner) to stay connected!
