Hair Care for Winter: 6 Products I have been Using This Season

by Wasifa Ahmad Hasan

Dry. Brittle. Coarse. Yucky.

These are the labels I get to hear often about my hair. Trust me, it used to get on my nerves, but I have outgrown that stage of feeling like that. My curly hair is really dry, to begin with, and it becomes more brittle as drier it gets. After moving to Fargo, ND, the situation has somewhat worsened. So I have tried different masks, products, and vitamins to get my hair the nourishment it needs. Today I am going to talk about 6 winter hair care products my hair has been loving this season. Actually, you can use these even if it’s not Winter.

Live Clean Argan Oil Restorative Shampoo and Conditioner

Live Clean Argan Oil Restorative Shampoo and conditioner is enriched with 100% pure Argan Oil, certified organic Grape Seed, and Olive oils for enhanced long-term conditioning and shine. What I like most about this duo is that these are gentle yet effective. You know how some shampoos can make your hair too dry and some conditioners can weigh down your hair?

Well, this shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair soft and not too dry.

These retail for $5.99 each and can be found on: here, here

Schwarzkopf GLISS™ Ultra Moisture Anti-Breakage Treatment

My hair is waist long and the ends are very dry & brittle. Which is why this anti-breakage treatment is something I use twice monthly. I like to use this heavier conditioner as a mask. I apply it in damp hair, leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then wash my hair as usual.

This treatment contains a special complex of Keratin Care-19 Complex and penetrates deep into your hair for softness and shine, with up to 95% less hair breakage.

It retails for $5.99; can be found here.

Schwarzkopf GLISS™ Color Guard Express Repair Conditioner

As I color my hair often, I need to use products which are hair color-friendly.  This Leave-In Conditioner provides instant combable hair and color protection up to 12 weeks. So the hair feels silky smooth each time I use it.

It retails for $5.99; found here.

Schwarzkopf GLISS™ Ultimate Repair Express Repair™ Conditioner

This product can also be used as a leave-in product. It smells amazing and detangles hair, makes it smooth and manageable as well. It uses a high-performance formula with 3X liquid Keratin to precisely repair damaged hair and replaces lost Keratin leaving your hair restored.

It retails for $5.99; found here.

Schwarzkopf GLISS™ Ultimate Repair Express Repair™ Conditioner

göt2b Volumaniac Bodifying hairspray

Though I rarely use a volumizing spray, this product is great for an updo or beachy-bouncy curls. It is not drying and doesn’t leave any unwanted residue after use.

It retails for $5.99, can be found here.

Bonus Tip:

Use a Wet Brush like the one I have shown here. These brushes can be used while hair is dry or wet and helps to detangle hair gently.
