Summer is just around the corner. Your diet will change, your cardio will get rougher. But it will all pay off once bikini season is here! We have the perfect tips for making this transition as smooth, cheap, and fun as possible. The trick to getting through every difficult part of a situation is enjoyment and the right pacing. So, let’s make dieting and cardio awesome this summer!
1. Have a Cooking Contest
This is a fun thing to do with a friend or a significant other. It began as a date idea for a friend and her fiancé based on a game Miley Cyrus played with her boyfriend, and it became so popular that they now participate in the activity regularly. Prepare an ingredient list for the other person. The cook must then make a meal using the ingredients listed. The cook may also use other basic ingredients in the kitchen. Try adding extra stipulations like maximum grams of sugar, sodium limits, or restricting processed food. This will create hours of laughs and force you to get creative with new recipes!
Keep the game healthy by trying these ingredients:
- Fresh Herbs
- Cultural Spices
- Dry Rubs, Marinades, or Cooking Wines
- Lots of Fresh Vegetables (Try getting seasonal vegetables for added taste!)
- Grass Fed Meat
- Gourmet Cheeses
2. Don’t Deprive Yourself
If you like to eat out, then don’t be afraid to go to restaurants. If you start taking away things that you enjoy, you are less likely to be happy with your routine. If you are unhappy, there is a higher chance that you will not stick with a diet plan. Go out with friends. Just do it in a reasonable way. Here are some tips on eating out without losing sight of fitness goals.
While you should not deprive yourself of fun, you should also not deprive yourself of rest. The body needs rest to heal and rejuvenate. It is definitely important to be active, but it is equally important to rest. While many people like to wake up in the morning to exercise, it is important to make sure you don’t cut sleep time too short. People who do not sleep properly tend to consume more calories, so cutting sleep in favor of a workout could be counterproductive. Balance is always key!
3. Hit the Trails
Getting that beach body will probably require sneaking in some extra cardio. This can also be fun! Hiking can be an excellent way to get outdoors while also getting exercise. Research also suggests that getting outdoors has a positive impact on mental health. This can, in turn, positively impact the enthusiasm you put into your workouts. Hiking is an excellent activity because it can be done alone or with friends or family!
For added fun, just find an affordable mountain bike and get on a fun trail with your friends! There are many women who love mountain biking. This is one of Jennifer Aniston’s favorite activities (she even used to be a bike messenger). Biking is a fun activity that also combines the outdoors, physical activity, and family fun! Several people around the country seek out local bike trails to fulfill their fitness needs. Many also plan trips and outings to state and national parks. This is a wonderful chance to connect with nature and get in shape at the same time!
4. Get Cultural
One way to make dieting and exercising fun is to add a cultural touch. Do something you haven’t done before. Try yoga or a cultural dancing class. Cook exotic dishes. Many fitness enthusiasts have found that meditation also decreases stress as well as makes the body feel cleansed! Activities such as karate are fun, and they double as self-defense training! The possibilities are endless!
You can add the culture to your cooking as well! Studies have linked a Mediterranean diet to lower risk of heart disease and overall health. For best results, try cooking new foods at home. That way, you can substitute any unhealthy ingredients with tasty, healthier options.Trying foods from all over the world can help you have fun while also getting slim and trim!
Looking great does not have to mean giving things up! Making the whole process enjoyable will keep you on track for your goals. Whether it is getting creative in the kitchen, having some fun out with friends, getting cardio hiking and biking, or adding a cultural flare to your life, these activities can do more than just get you in shape. Activities that enrich your life also improve your wellbeing! Bring on bikini season!
