Why women are turning to streetwear:

Streetwear has often been associated with men’s fashion, but what about us women? Now more than ever women are turning to streetwear brands to express themselves in every day wear. Some clothing labels don’t actually have women’s sizes, but “boyfriend chic” is an in style this year! Baggy boy-fit clothes are quickly replacing tight and revealing clothing that was all the range in 2016, if you’re looking for a cool and quirky style then don’t be afraid to break out of the mould and dress like a boy!

Athletic Leggings:

Adidas and BOY London are leading the way with the fiercest and most stylish leggings that will take your streetwear style straight to a 10/10. BOY London are renowned for their underground following that gets all of the cool kids interested. Their leggings are distinguished and covered in the eagle logo and either bright or metallic colours, so if you are looking for an edgy out-there look, then these are the way to go.

Adidas have a more understated and classic vibe that will always be at the forefront of fashion. Whether you’re going to a festival, to the shops or out for a meal with your friends, athletic leggings are a great way of giving your outfit that little bit of an edge, whilst being the comfiest item of clothing in your wardrobe.

Baggy Tees:

The 80s sportswear look has made a big impact on streetwear style this year. Wearing baggy tees and tight leggings is going to be the way forward as the weather gets warmer, so if you want to get the latest streetwear look, then take this on board! Throw out your tight T-Shirts and replace them with the baggy 80s sports tees, brands like Blvck Clothing and Antony Morato Clothing are going to be leading the way with this look, because of their bold and baggy aesthetic. This trend is set to bring comfort to streetwear for women!

 Hoodies and Jackets:

Vintage streetwear jackets are going to be big this year, following on from the 80s sportswear style, expect to see a lot of people sporting “one of a kind” and “pre-loved” sports jackets that are brightly coloured and plucked straight out of a cool inner city vintage shop. Adidas, Nike and Umbro (to name a few) are timeless streetwear classics that will have you turning heads everywhere you go.

 Hats:

Hats have always been part of streetwear, they are the most (if not the only) important accessory that you should be adding to your wardrobe. They allow you to add a little bit more of a personal dimension and feel to your streetwear style and always draw attention away from your outfit. So if you choose to wear a hat, then make sure it suits you! The perfect hat to wear in the Winter months is a cool beanie, they give off a skateboarder vibe that gives a real edge to your look. Just remember streetwear style is all about being creative and expressing individuality, so have fun with whatever you choose to wear.
