Are you on Instagram? Have you heard of Naomi Giannopoulos? Chances are, you don’t know who I am talking about….and most likely you are stuttering on the last part of that name.
BUT let me rephrase my question. Have you heard of Vegas Nay? Do I see a nodding? 🙂
So you do know this name!
Let me give a quick intro on Vegas Nay,
Vegas Nay has over 20 years of experience as a professional makeup artist and an Instagram following of 3.4 million people worldwide. Known for her beautiful makeup pictorials, Naomi is a self taught MUA – her online blog Vegas Nay has become a beautiful network of sharing talent from all over the world.
I have been following her on Instagram since I myself have joined there, Apart from her makeup work, she also shares makeup, hair and nail art of other talented bloggers/MUAs. So her page is like an encyclopedia of all things related to beauty!
Naomi launched a beauty convention last year named STARDUST TOUR. The main purpose of this interactive event is to familiarize beauty influencers i.e. bloggers/vloggers, makeup & hair artists with beauty enthusiasts and aspiring makeup artists like us. On this all-day event, the beauty celebs share their knowledge on makeup, hair, blogging/vlogging, beauty industry and also on photography & social media.
So to simplify things, if you are a beauty enthusiast like me, you get to meet some of the AWESOME bloggers and makeup artists in beauty industry…..and also get a goody bag.
This year the beauty panel consisted of beauty bloggers, makeup artists, hair stylists and professional photographers.
The bloggers were: MaryamNYC, Missy Linn, Ely Marino, Teni Panosian
Hair stylist: Artak
Makeup artists: Kelley Baker, Vegas Nay, THE Scott Barnes
Photographers: Israel Marino and LeeNY
Too Faced co-founder Jerrod Blandino.
And last but not the least, Milly Thompson– Beauty Editor at Cosmo For Latinas as presenter.
I was so intrigued by the 2014 Stardust tour when I read it on Maryam’s blog. I was living in Bangladesh at that time and I just consoled myself, “Oneday!”
Fortunately I got to attend this year’s Stardust tour, special thanks to my husband for all the hardships he had to go through to arrange all the details of this tour.
This year’s Stardust tour was on January 24th, on Las Vegas Cosmopolitan hotel. The whole-day event comprised of beauty-industry insights, meeting new people, food- drinks and some of the best makeup products in the industry.
Ok, so this is where I am going to get silent and show you pictures of the event. After all, picture will tell you the stories better than words!
MAKEUP AND HAIR!
I feel so stupid not taking a close up picture after doing the makeup, I was in a hurry and these selfies were the only pictures I have before the event.
Here’s a snap of the eye makeup before taking it off after 12 hours. All the shadows are from Lorac pro palette.
My contacts went complete haywire during the event, so I had to wear my glasses. Glasses+false lashes= Bad combo.
IN A NUTSHELL:
I loved every aspect of the event… I have learnt so much about blogging, social media managing, photography and makeup from this short event, I wish I could attend this event 1 year before so that I could use the knowledge I have now. Ahh well! Better late than never!
Sincere thanks to all the people behind this event, specially Vegas Nay.
