What I learned from “Acne Face Mapping” about my current Breakouts!

by Wasifa Ahmad Hasan
What happens when you add weather change with stress and bad diet?
Breakout, redness and itchy face.
OR, to see more closely…..THIS!

My skin has been acting so crazy lately, I am feeling like I am back to my post-surgery days…..when my skin was dehydrated, red, patchy, full of acne and looking like hell. Pictures here on my previous article.

Keep on reading for more…..

Though my skin has become a lot better now than those painful days, some pesky little acne are already erupting on my forehead and my cheek area has become red and itchy. Not cool!

Settling into a new place, new city and job change have been making me stressed lately. To add to the equation, I have been taking a lot of processed, salty and fast foods. (Who can blame me, when french fries, pizza and chocolate cake with whipped cream taste sooo freaking awesome! *DROOLS*)

Anyways, let’s focus on skin problem. I have read about acne face charts quite a while ago. After getting these acne bouts, I went on searching for those charts again. If you haven’t read those charts, have a look here.

To summarize the chart;
Zone 1, 3- Digestive System
Zone 2- Liver
Zone 6, 8- Kidneys
Zone 7- Heart
Zone 5, 9- Respiratory System
Zone 4, 10- Kidneys
Zone 14- Illness
Zone 12- Hormones
Zone 11, 13- Stomach & Hormones
I am having breakouts on my forehead, zone 1, 2 and 3……which means I need to-

1. Check my diet ,
2. Modify my eating habits,
3. Detoxify my liver and
4. Drink lots of water.

If you are also having breakouts, you can consult this chart and see why your skin has been acting like this. I am going to follow it and let you know about my improvement.

A Short tip on makeup while having breakouts:

Try to avoid makeup products as much as possible while having breakouts. But if you have an occasion OR you don’t want to go bare when having an acne episode, just use a moisturizer according to your skin type, use a BB cream or light layer of concealer focusing only on center of the face and set lightly with a powder.

I am wearing MAC pro longwear concealer here which was set with studio fix powder on center of face to cover up some of the redness.

Which areas of your skin are having acne?

I use a facial brush to wash my face and scrub my face 2-3 times weekly. It helps a lot.
