Vacationing is the experience of a lifetime; it’s an absolute pleasure to take in the charming architecture, taste the local food and bask in the glow of the sun on the beach; however, for many travelers, vacation is in the summer and it can be overwhelming, therefore, it’s important to pack those skincare essentials that will help protect your skin during the warmest time of the year in most places.
Keep on reading to reveal the 6 staple products!
Sunscreen
A vacation in wouldn’t be the same without those fun days in the sun on the pink sand beaches. Unfortunately, the sun can also damage your skin in one too many ways, therefore, you will want to reapply sunscreen several times throughout the day. It’s best to get one with broad-spectrum protection with at least 15 SPF, and if you plan on going in the water, be sure that the sunscreen you choose is waterproof.
Aloe Vera Gel
In case you do get sunburned, aloe vera gel will be your best friend. When your skin burns, it can itch and get infected, making it uncomfortable and hazardous to your health. Aloe vera has healing properties that will get rid of the discomfort and start the healing process, which is why it’s often used in lotions and folk medicine.
Moisturizer is always necessary, but never more so than when you’re out in the sun more often. In the sun, your skin can get dry and damaged. Unfortunately, in the heat, a regular moisturizer can leave your face looking greasy and shiny. An oil-free moisturizer can maintain your skin’s moisture while giving your skin a natural brightness.
Lip Protection
Whether you are going to on a romantic getaway or with your entire family, you will want those lips of yours to stay protected from the sun. As the sun can soak up the moisture from your lips, leaving them dry and cracked, you will want to invest in a lip balm or ultra protection stick of SPF 30 or higher. Apply every two hours for the best results.
Green Tea
If you do ultimately get sunburned, you will want to apply aloe vera to it right away. Green tea is another great option that can help reduce the inflammation of your burn, while keeping itching at bay. You will most likely be able to find these green tea bags at a local restaurant– just don’t apply them to your burns while the bags are hot! Let them cool completely.
Face and Body Mist
When the heat becomes overwhelming, your energy will likely suffer as it can easily be zapped away by the sun’s rays, and all you will want to do is go to your nice, air-conditioned hotel room.
You want to enjoy every minute of your vacation, not have it ruined by the heat. Many skin care companies have started making face mist products that are designed to cool you down in heat emergencies. Plus, face mists are filled with antioxidants which can strengthen your skin. It’s the perfect product to keep in your bag while you’re enjoying all of the wonders your vacation getaway has to offer.
