Hello everybody!
Today I am going to talk about some common questions I face every day on my blog.
Many concerned readers have mailed me these things over and over. So I think disclosing these topics in an article will help all of my readers out there!
CONCERN 1 :
I am a student/on-a-budget; I can’t afford to buy the new MAC collection or Urban Decay Naked collection.
What should I do?
OPINION:
Don’t buy! It’s that simple.
The life & death urge you have right now about a specific product, will diminish after a couple of weeks. And if other people’s haul or collection is driving you crazy, take a step back and rethink about what is the first priority : a MAC lipstick, your bills or saving the money.
TIP:
There are many dupes for higher end products on the market… Like MUA palettes have similar colors as Urban Decay Naked palette. You can buy the MUA palette to try out the colors!
CONCERN 2 :
I don’t wanna splurge too much on a skin care item.
OPINION:
If your wallet allows, indulge on a good skin care product. If I have a thousand bucks to spend on myself, I would buy a good skin care product, rather than a new makeup item.
CONCERN 3 :
I am in my teens/ early 20s. I have lots of spots/ acne marks on my face, what should I do?
OPINION:
Before using any store bought chemical products i.e. spot treatment, anti-acne medication, spot reducing products- try the at-home treatments and improve your diet. You have to try these at least for 6 months to get results and these are beneficial for your skin.
CONCERN 4 :
I am in my teens/20s, should I use anti-aging products?
OPINION:
If you are in your teens or early 20s, just focus on protection and proper skin care. Use a good quality sunscreen. You do not need products containing AHA or retinol. Try these when you are in your late 20s or early 30s.
CONCERN 5 :
Should I buy cheap makeup brush, or cheap makeup products?
OPINION:
Ummm… Let me put it this way, there is a fine line between cheap & affordable. Sometimes when you want to save a few bucks by going stingy with your shopping, you can seriously compromise your skin and health condition.
Few months ago, I read about some REALLY cheap eyeshadows from different Bengali bloggers. These eyeshadows are used in most of the local makeup parlors. Being curious, I went to the market and bought some. Each pan cost me 10 BDT (only!). So I was quite happy with the bargain!
Now let’s review if the products were worth it.
Pretty vibrant, right?
Fortunately I didn’t put the colors on my eyes…just swatched on my hand. As you can see the colors are really vibrant….almost like acrylic colors! So color payoff- 100%.
But when I tried to wipe off the shadows from my hand, it was a different story. I used my eyeshadow remover, olive oil, and then soap to remove the colors completely. The colors stained my hand and fingers!
It came off the next day in shower K
Shall I buy it again?
No, NO… and a hell no!
Same thing applies for cheap brush sets. The bristles fall off like crazy and whichever product you use with these, it won’t apply well.
So yeah, now you decide if you want to go cheap or go affordable!
TIP:
Many makeup companies offer affordable products of good qualities… like BH Cosmetics, Sleek Cosmetics, Coastal Scents, ELF.
They give great offers almost all the year around….from brush sets to eyeshadow and lipcolor palettes.
