2012 is coming to an end. Just like the past years, Pantone has revealed their color of 2013, and it’s
Emerald green.
If you are wondering what is Pantone… let me quote from their site:
“Pantone is the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries. The PANTONE® name is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.
For nearly 50 years, Pantone has been inspiring design professionals with products, services and leading technology for the colorful exploration and expression of creativity.”
I am not a “green” fan, but the color Emerald green is a different story. The rich dark color gives an aura of style & sophistication and looks good on everyone! This color often symbolize renewal, regrowth and health.
Here is how you can incorporate this color to your everyday style.
CLOTHES
If you don’t want to go overboard with Emerald or you are not fond of this color just try adding a hint of emerald in your clothing. Add an emerald scarf, or t-shirt or even a thin belt. If you are going for the “deshi” style [shalwar-kamiz, saari] you can go for the allover Emerald or you can chose one part to focus. I prefer the latter.
MAKEUP
You don’t have to go for a dramatic Emerald eye makeup if you don’t want to. Just add a little color onto your eyes. Try emerald green/green eyeliner… throw some peachy-pink lipstick and you are good to go!
Here is a dramatic Arabic look I have created featuring the color emerald green.

NAILS
I am a huge fan of dark nail colors….especially on winter. I like to combine greens with blues.
ACCESSORIES
I love to mix and match accessories. You don’t have to match your accessory to your dress, rather use the “opposite color” of the color wheel to accentuate your whole attire. The opposite color of green is red. So rose gold or muted red and rose jewelry looks good with emerald green dress.
If you are going for an allover emerald green look, choose your shoes of neutral colors, like beige, black, white and gray. You can also choose darker versions of green.
Emerald green may be the color of 2013, but that does not mean you have to ditch all your favorite colors and go for this one. Just add some emerald color in your life and have fun!
